Traitor Investigator Unknown Monster - Cthulhu: Death May Die
Fan-made "missing" Unspeakable Box Unknown Monster.
In Lost Episode 3 "Happy Birthday!" the investigators face unique enemies - Enthralled Guests, who once have been their friends. Some of them are hostile due to a spell put on them, but some are in fact Traitors acting of their own volition. No Unknown Monster rules have been set for this particular Traitor enemy by Game Developers from CMON and this is the only enemy type lacking such. Cultmasters from Lost Episode 1 and the Mi-Go together with Yithians from Lost Episode 2 have their own Unknown Monster cards. It's time to fix this!
Traitors use stats of Enthralled Guests who have been unmasked as Traitors from Lost Episode 3. Their powers are designed to resemble investigator skills of Marksman, Brawling and Arcane Mastery. To add some variety, the skills they use depend on the visual design of the figures.
Clarification of the rules:
- At the beginning of the game draw at random 5 investigator figures that are not used by the players as their investigators and add them to the pool of monsters. Use these same 5 figures during the entire game.
- If the Traitor figure carries both ranged and melee weapons, it benefits from BOTH of the corresponding skills described in the card.
- The skills in the investigator board of the Traitor's figure DON'T MATTER. Only the weapons on the figure matter, regardless of them being holstered/sheathed or held/wielded.
- The spaces that are Unsafe due to increased range of a Traitor are only considered such in the "Investigate or Fight!" phase. The "+1 enemy" effect applies to the adjacent spaces to make sure there is no confusion about how to resolve skills of investigators such as Lysa, Sam or Bert and also the new common skill "Deception". Investigators moving through such Unsafe spaces do not need to Sneak past the ranged Traitor and do not trigger it to follow them, if they don't enter its exact space.
- All investigator effects triggering on being attacked apply to the ranged Traitor normally. If for any reason this would cause confusion, resolve the issue in the way most harmful to the investigators.
